According to a CaseFile podcast, Jim Jones was once a civil rights activist and an advocate for racial and social equality. The podcast was long on details about life and death at Jonestown but short on speculation as to what may have caused his transition from desegregationist to despot. Has anyone studied his brain?

ReplyDeleteI didn't know that about him. I think that it was the Jonestown incident that made me begin putting my head in the sand.
ReplyDeleteHave you listened to the podcast about Heaven's Gate? Very different leaders than Jim Jones, and yet they still ended up with a mass suicide, albeit much smaller in number than Jonestown.
